Sports Injuries

The term “sports injury,” in the broadest sense, refers to the kinds of injuries that most commonly occur during sports or exercise. Some sports injuries result from accidents; others are due to poor training practices, improper equipment, lack of conditioning, or insufficient warm-up and stretching.

Although virtually any part of your body can be injured during sports or exercise, the term is typically reserved for injuries that involve the musculoskeletal system, which includes the muscles, bones, and associated tissues like ligaments and tendons.

With certifications in ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE and GRASTON TECHNIQUE, Dr. Andersen is an expert at understanding and treating sports injuries. With a combination of gentle joint mobilization and myofascial stretching and manipulation we can correct most sports injuries.

Some of the more common injuries we have treated include; rotator cuff injuries, shin splints, piriformis syndrome, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, cubital tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, vertigo, headaches, neck injuries, sprain/strain,frozen shoulder, tennis elbow(lateral epicondylitis), golfer’s elbow(medial epicondylitis), scoliosis, and low back injuries, just to name a few.
